A soloist of the G. Tukai Tatar State Philharmonic, accordion virtuoso Aydar Valeev will take part in a gala presentation of the spring holiday Nowruz in Turkey and Europe. The event is organized by the International Organization TURKSOY with the assistance of permanent missions to UNESCO, a number of countries - the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan.
During a visit to the headquarters of the TURKSOY Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, in January 2015, an agreement was reached on a joint celebration of the International Day of Nowruz at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the UNESCO, held on March 24. Nowruz Bairam uniting Turkic countries and communities, has become one of the most famous traditional activities carried out by the International Organization TURKSOY. Five years ago TURKSOI first organized celebration of Nowruz at the Great Hall of UNESCO Headquarters.
Performances by a colorful community of artists from 120 member countries of TURKSOY as well as China and Mongolia, will be held March 24 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, Cologne and Vienna. Within the framework of the project a photo exhibition TURKSOY “Colors of Nowruz” to be presented. Together with Aidar Valeev, the art of the regions of the Russian Federation will present dancers of State ensemble named after F.Gaskarov and ethno-rock band "Argymak" (Bashkortostan), State National Theatre of dance and song "Altam" (Altai), Tuvan National Song and Dance Ensemble "Sayan" (Tuva), State of vocal and choreographic ensemble "Dagestan" (Dagestan), lead singer Ruslan Ivakin (Khakassia) and virtuoso homuzist Juliana Krivoshapkina (Sakha-Yakutia, Russia).
At the same time, a large-scale Nowruz tour begins to the cities of Turkey, which choreographic Kazan State University of Culture and Arts takes part in. The festival program enclosing more than 140 artists from 10 countries lasts from March 19 to 30 includes performances in 20 cities in Turkey - Ankara and Istanbul, Adana, Hataia and Edirne.
Nowruz (translated from the Persian "new day") - a celebration of the beginning of spring and the arrival of the new year. It is celebrated on the day of the vernal equinox (21, 22, or March 23) as a national holiday in Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Albania, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, as a national holiday - in many republics of Russia. The holiday has a very long history - the first mention occurs in the Persian sources of II century AD. International Day of the holiday has become by UNESCO - in 2009 Nowruz was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Celebration and dissemination of information about Nowruz was supported by the UN General Assembly in 2010, adopting a resolution entitled "International Day of Nowruz."
