Conference on Intangible Heritage of Udmurtia Tatars

November 28, at the House of Peoples' Friendship in Izhevsk supported by a grant from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, an Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference "Problems of safeguarding intangible cultural heritage of  Udmurtia Tatars" was held.

Delegation of Tatarstan was represented by Irek Sharipov - Deputy of the State Council of Tatarstan, Ilfak Ibragimov - editor in chief of "Kazan Utlary" Elmira Kayumova - leading researcher of  RTSRTK.

The conference was attended by representatives of local government: the minister of national policy of RU Larissa Buranova, Deputy Minister of Culture, Media and Information RU Petr Danilov et al.

Elmira Kayumova spoke on "Ethnic history, folklore and traditional spiritual culture of the Tatars of Udmurtia" and held a master class on "Selection of repertoire for folk ensemble".

At the event reports interspersed with performances by folk groups. An event was timed to release conference materials and CD-ROM "Udmurtia tatarlarynyn myadyani mirasy".
