The International Scientific - Practical Conference "Historical, Cultural and Spiritual Heritage of Sviyazhsk" To Be Held In the Republic of Tatarstan

In the Year of Culture, November 14-15, 2014, the International scientific - practical conference "Historical, cultural and spiritual heritage of Sviyazhska" to be held in the Republic of Tatarstan. The conference will be held in Kazan and in Sviyazhsk.

The conference aims to study the historical, architectural and spiritual heritage of Sviyazhsk and elaboration of approaches for preservation, restoration, promotion and management of cultural heritage.

The conference will bring together representatives of government, Russian and foreign specialists, experts in the field of study, preservation and restoration of historical and cultural monuments, medieval monumental painting and iconography, the researchers of academic institutes and universities, employees of museums and other institutions of science, education and culture, representatives of Russian Orthodox churches, non-governmental and community organizations.

Official opening  of the conference will be held  November 14 at 10.00am, in the conference hall of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. The plenary session of the conference will be attended by RT State Councilor, Chairman Board of Trustees of the National Fund for revival of monuments of history and culture Mintimer Shaimiev.

Within the conference Roundtable "Assumption Cathedral and Trinity Church of Sviyazhsk: a complex of monuments of architecture and Orthodox spiritual culture" will take place as well as a tour with a visit to the museum Sviyazhsk history.
