Tchistopolsky Museum Reserve holds a literary meeting 'Where from Russia begins ... "dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the poet Victor Bokov at the Literary and Memorial Museum "Teacher's House"

September 25, at 14.00pm,  a literary meeting 'Where from Russia begins ... "dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the poet, prose writer, folklore collector Viktor Yanukovych Bokov will b held  at  the Literary-Memorial Museum "Teacher's House"  of Tchistopolsky State Museum. His sources of inspiration - nature, people and life. A native land  itself   speaks and sings  in his verses. Mikhail Prishvin said  about Bokov  "These talents are born once in a hundred years."

For the first time in the city on the Kama  Bokov arrived in August 1941, just    for a few days. Later,  the poet arrived in Tchistopol in mid-October 1941 and lived here for a few months (until March 1942). In Tchistopol   more than a dozen poems, "Snowstorm", "Mother", "The bell tinkled," "Farewell to Tchistopolov" and others   were written. In Tchistopol,   first verses  by  Bokov sounded publicly and were warmly greeted by local and evacuated residents. At  the literary evenings in the Teacher's House, together with the citizens they listened N. Aseyev, L. Leonov,   K. Fedin, K. Trenev B.  Pasternak. Writers praised the poetry of the young poet. From Tchistopol   Bokov was drafted into the army.

In 1985, Viktor Bokov again came to Tchistopol, for many years kept in touch with Tchistopol newspaper, ethnographers.

On  the poems  by  Victor Bokov  more than 150 songs   were written. Many of them    were attributed as  "people’s song." Many verses of the poet "A young sailor  rides on  furlough(Na pobyvku yedet ," "Oh, snow, snowball," "On the Mamaev Hill", the most popular "Orenburg shawl,"  were set on  music by composers A. Averkin,  G. Ponomarenko, V. Solovyov-sedoi , became well-known and loved by the people.

Songs on poems by Victor Bokov, at  the literary meeting will be performed by the choir of veterans of pedagogical work "Gvozdika  (Carnation)". In addition, participants will hear recordings of poems by the author. Atmosphere  of Bokov’s  autumn  will be  created  by  art exhibitions of   Tchistopoler  Pavel Samoilov "Autumn Motives" and exhibition –illustration  of  pupils of children's art school on works  by  V. Bokov  

The Literary meeting   is accompanied   by a  mini-exhibition based on the motives of  songs  by   Bokov  from   Tchistopolsky State Museum, which displays objects of peasant life and folk musical instruments.
