August 25, at 12.00 AM, on the May 1 square, a rally will take place, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the execution of Jalil and his comrades.

It was on this day in 1944, according to the verdict of the imperial court of Germany, for counterwork in the German armed forces, at prison Plettsenzee, a Tatar poet Musa Jalil and his ten comrades were executed. Every year, on the same day and the same hour, when they went to the scaffold, Kazaners  are getting together on Maidan near the Kremlin to commemorate the heroes, a feat,  which embodies the unbroken spirit of the Tatar people.

"Peace and world literature knows a lot of poets   that  immortalized their names -  Samad Vurgun Azerbaijan people’s poet wrote- but such as the poet-hero Musa Jalil, immortalized his name also by immortal creatures and death, which itself is a feat not so a lot. Here, they are: the great Byron, a famous  people’s  hero  of  Hungary Sandor Petofi, the hero  Julius Fucik and finally Musa Jalil. "

The guests from various republics of Russia were invited to participate in this event. Among them, the famous poet of Kabardino-Balkaria, the chief editor of "Ming Tau" Asker Dodu and poet Mutalip Beppaev, chairman of the Writers' Union of Bashkortostan Nail Gaitbaev, a guest from Moscow, poet and translator Sergei Glovyuk, chairman of the Union of Writers of Chuvashia, the national poet of Chuvashia, Honored worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Valery Turgay et al.

The program includes: speech  by  Chairman of the Union of Writers of Tatarstan  Rafis Kurbanov, the RT  national poet Renat  Kharis, a laureate of  Musa Jalil award  Ruzalya Mukhametshina, daughter of Musa Jalil - Chulpan Zalilova, great-grandsons of the poet, a laureate of international contests Mikhail Mitrofanov-Zalilov and Elizaveta  Malysheva
