Theater laboratory "Svijazhsky ARTel" to be run by Oleg Loyevsky at the island-Svijazhsk

From August 1 to 9, a theater laboratory "Svijazhsk ARTel" by Oleg Loyevsky  to operate  at  the island-Svijazhsk. The laboratory will be attended by Russian directors and playwrights, actors of Kazan theaters, as well as students of Kazan Theatre School,  by  joint efforts of  whom  of  sketches  of future performances  about  Sviyazhsk  will be  created. Their foundation will be laid associated with island-town myths, legends and historical texts. This was discussed today at a press conference held at the Ministry of Culture of Tatarstan.

"We are interested in the history of Sviyazhsk, that material for research, which is already in place. Therefore, there was this idea that the main hero  would be an  island-town itself "- said the director of Support Fund for Contemporary Art" The Living City "Inna Yarkova.

According to the organizers, "Svijazhsky  Artel 'attention is drawn today  not just to attract tourists, but to preserve and increase the wealth of cultural   richness , which is  enjoyed by  the  island-town. Theatre Laboratory, according  to  I. Yarkova- a great way to show the audience what is living a modern theater and Svijazhsk for this - a great playground.

As the director of the State Historical and Architectural Museum "Island-Svijazhsk ARTel” Artyom  Silkin mentioned, a theatrical laboratory shows  to  residents and visitors that the island is not only scenes from the history of  Sviyazhsk, but also real stories about  people, who once loved and lived here, and  living myths and legends  on this land.

For eight days, three teams consisting of a director, playwright and actors  will create  draft  performances. Director y Pavel Zobnin (Moscow) with playwright Yaroslava Pulinovich will work on the theme of "Letters," Radion Bukaev (Elets) and Irina Vaskovskaya to  be engaged in "Myths and legends" and George Tsnobiladze (St. Petersburg) and Pauline Borodin waiting for "Verbatim".

Actors of  Kazan theaters and  Kazan drama school students will play,   those who wished  to take part in the event during the open selection of artists. According to Inna Yarkova, currently,   about 30 actors have been sorted out. The presence of these students  particularly pleased Director of  Fund  for Contemporary Art "The Living City."

"Theatre Laboratory - a kind of experiment that will show us whether or not to pursue such an event. But mostly, by  this event  we   are  going  to awaken the cultural life in Sviyazhsk "- said the director Radion Bukaev.

Sketches  of improvised performances will take the form of site-specific - a trend of  phenomenon of contemporary theater, which literally translates as "place of specificity." This theatrical sketches, created in a particular space and exists only in it. Integral part of   performance sketches  created in the laboratory "Svijazhsk ARTel" will be specific   loci of the   island-town .

We remind that the "Svijazhsk ARTtel" - the third laboratory that is  conducted by Support Fund for Contemporary Art "The Living City." Showing of  sketches on the results of the laboratory will be held on August 9.
