National Library of Tatarstan presents cycle of book exhibitions devoted to the Day of Russia

Section of Customer Care of  National Library of Tatarstan  from  June 1 - 30, 2014,  presents a cycle of book exhibitions devoted to the Day of Russia: "Sovereignty as a political choice ", " no other country I do not know ", " Russian State symbols: Past and Present " .

Independence Day of the Russian Federation or Russia Day - one of the youngest public holidays in our country. June 12, 1990,  the Congress of People 's Deputies ( the highest legislative body of the Republic at the time) adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia.

In 1994, this day was declared a national holiday - the Day of Russia.

The exhibition "Sovereignty as a political choice" presented literature about the formation of a new Russian statehood based on the principles of constitutional federalism. In previous editions,    various aspects of the mentioned   subject  are  revealed. Among them: the history of federalism in Russia , the legal framework of federalism , the theory and practice of federalism, comparative analysis of federalism in Russia and the world.

Exhibition "Other country I do not know" reflects one of the main features of the Russian state - its multi-ethnicity . This unique heritage of the country with thousands of years of history, which united in the vast multitude of people , territories and cultures. There are books about  Russians , Tatars, Chuvashs, Maris, Bashkirs, Udmurts, and many other nationalities,  who consider Russia   their home.

The exhibition " Russian state symbols : Past and Present" includes editions , which can be traced all the way of development of Russian state symbols from   origins of its inception to the present day attributes. Here you can see the state symbols of Russia's regions. One section of the exhibition is devoted to the symbols of Tatarstan.
