March 14, 2014, at 16.00, at the National Gallery of Art "Hazine, "an exhibition" Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after VI Surikov. Exhibition of works by teachers and educational works by students" is due to open.
More than 100 paintings, drawings, sculptures in the exhibition reflect the creative processes taking place within the walls of MSAAI named after V.I. Surikov and its branch in Kazan.
Institute, founded in 1934, at the initiative of outstanding painter and art historian Igor Emmanuilovich Grabar, is descended from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (pre-revolutionary period), and VKhUTEMAS VHUTEIN (the first years after the revolution). Institute teachers were outstanding domestic masters of fine art: A.A. Dejneka , A.V. Lentulov, S.V. Gerasimov, V.A. Tabor, A.A. Osmerkin, M.G. Manizer, E.A. Kibrik, T.T. Salakh, A.M. Gritsay D.D. Jilinsky.
A landmark event in the history of the institution and in the history of art education in Tatarstan was the opening in 2008 MSAAI branch in Kazan.
The walls of MGAHI left hundreds of talented artists, sculptors, graphic artists, architects and art historians. Among the graduates and current students, a lot of representatives from Tatarstan.
The most eminent citizens of Kazan – graduates of MSAA of past decades are I.K. Zaripov (1939-2012) and A.A. Abzgildin (1937-2013), whose art works are presented at the exhibition since the very beginning of their career. The remarkable fact: two paintings at the exhibition by I.K.Zaripov – is a coursework taken during training and stored in the educational-methodical fund of MSAAI.
The exhibition opening at the gallery "Hazine" is the first joint exhibition of works by lecturers and students of Moscow institution, lecturers and students of Kazan branch.
Exhibition will last till April 13.
