March 4. at 4.PM, the exhibition of French photographer and director Guillaume Geren «ANTISYMBOLE et FASTER»  is to open a spring season  at the  CSK "Smena" (Kazan, street Burkhan Shakhidi 7, tel. 249-50-23 ).

The first joint project of intercultural center of contemporary culture "Smena" and the Center for French Language and Culture "Alliance Francaise - Kazan" is to  presented by the artist, who focused on the space between a nascent movement and static, as well as images of inhabiting it, conventionally called " antisymbols."

Exhibition project consists of two parts. «ANTISYMBOLE» - the author's reflections on the theme of sacred images in the era of ubiquitous standardized "pictures". «FASTER» on the contrary, moves slightly toward the "cult of the moment" and offers appeal to technocratic architectural topics, increasing the continuity of this communication and its impact on our ability to perceive.

Artist, talking about the central idea of exposure, notes that over the past few years in the field of photography, he completely lost faith in the objectivity of conventional symbols, gradually began to work on the subject of abstraction By combining in a single project photos and video, combining together different types of images - live and static - Geren reflects on the theme of sacred images in an era when "picture" has become truly ubiquitous and standardized.

A traveling exhibition was launched in 2013 on the initiative of the Embassy of France in Russia. The project have been exhibited in several Russian cities - Vladivostok, Nizhny Novgorod, Togliatti, Saratov. In 2014, the are planned exhibition in Kazan, Rybinsk, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg .
