November 29, the III-d International Poetry Festival named after N. Lobachevsky opens

November 29 - December 1, Kazan will host the III-d International Poetry Festival named after N. Lobachevsky. This festival with a mathematical slant  took its place in a calendar of important literary events in Russia and Tatarstan, and one might say  has become a tradition.

Originality and perceptivity  of this project is a synthesis of poetic and scientific foundations  in one poetic and scientific forum that brings together scholars and poets and continues existing in the days of Lobachevsky tradition of joint evenings  “Society of Lovers of Russian Literature" at the University of Kazan  where at the meetings   not only poets, philologists read their poems, but also  mathematics.  As known,   Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky wrote poetry.

The subject of discussion at the upcoming conference

will be "Impact on non-Euclidean geometry on  artistic consciousness ",   primarily, it assumes   presentation of scientific, creative projects at the intersection of philosophical, cultural, historical, natural, mathematical and philological research, testing original hypotheses, which  may  be ahead of time, as non-Euclidean geometry  of Lobachevsky. Conference speakers include poets, mathematicians, philosophers ...

This year the festival will be attended by famous poets Alexei Ostudin (Kazan) , Daniel Chkoniya (Germany ), Andrei  Shcherbak  - Zhukov - (Moscow), Galina Ilyukhina (St. Petersburg ), Vladimir Shpakov (St. Petersburg ), Dmitry Legeza (St. Petersburg), Danila Davydov (Moscow), Gleb Mikhalev (Kazan), Vitaliy Molchanov (Orenburg) , Bik - Ayrat Bulatov (Kazan), Nuri Burnash (Kazan) , Anastasia Strokina (Moscow), Vadim Gershanov (Kazan ), etc.

The cultural program of the festival includes walking down the  Kazan Kremlin and the Old- Tatar settlement, a museum tour of Kazan University and the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan
