October 24, the birthday of Sofia Gubaidulina, in a Column Hall of the Kazan City Hall  where a young six year old pianist Sonia Gubaidulina first came on the scene, the concert "In the beginning was the rhythm ... " is to take place.

This is the first event of the series of concerts of contemporary music "Sound spaces  of Sofia Gubaidulina”  2013 -2014.   Beginning at 18.30

Centre for Contemporary Music of Sofia Gubaidulina  opened in 2001   to mark   70th anniversary of our compatriot – an outstanding composer of our time. Like many European centers , Kazan Centre of Contemporary Music combines creative, educational and research activities, and organizes unique festivals and concerts of contemporary music.

A new cycle of concerts of contemporary music "Sound spaces  of Sofia Gubaidulina" – one of the most important musical and educational projects of the Centre of Contemporary Music after  Sofia Gubaidulina, designed for a wide listenership .
