In GBKZ Saidashev Concert "Music cathedrals of the world" Is to take place

September 18,  at 18.30,  in the State Concert Hall after  Saidashev, Concert "Music of  cathedrals of the world"   is to be held.   

The concert of  organ music of  United States and France will take place.

James Higdon - Professor of the University of Kansas (USA), musical director of the Savior's Lutheran Church in Kansas City.

He graduated from Northwestern University, in addition, has a doctorate of   Istmensk School of Music. His teachers were: Edmund Laduser, Robert Kendall, Karel Paukert, David Kreyghed, Catharine Crozier, Marie-Claire Alain.

Recordings made by James Higdon include the works   by  Marcel Dupré – a CD  "In honor of the centennial» (Pro Organo), recorded in St. Paul's Anglican Church (Toronto, Canada), "Organ Music of France" and works by Camille Saint- Sans (both discs recorded on the organ of the famous French master A. Cavaillé-Coll in 1879, in the church of St. Francois de Sal, Lyon, France); works for Organ by Jean Alain Arista.

One of the last works - the disc with works of Olivier Messiaen's "Meditations on the mystery of the Holy Trinity" and the works of American composer Leo Sowerby.

While touring through Europe   he  held solo concerts in Paris (Notre Dame de Paris, the Madeleine Church and San Etienne du Mont), in Vienna (St. Stephen's Church), as well as master classes in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. He performs regularly at regional conventions of the American Guild of Organists.

In 1997, the University of Kansas,  nominated James Higdon   an award "for outstanding educational merit." James Higdon was the first Professor of Art University of Kansas to receive this prestigious award. Most students G. Higdon - participants and winners of international competitions.

James Higton  is a member of jury of international contests  in USA Germany, France, Canada, Russia
