Today, on June 3, before several hours to opening of XI International theatrical festival of Turkic nations «Nauruz», at the press center of the festival, a meeting between media representatives and directorate, panel of critics of the festival took place.
In the press –conference took part the following: Irina Myagkova, Chairman of the critic’s board of the festival – prominent in Russia and abroad theatrical critic, theatre specialist, candidate of art critics, art critic, translator (Moscow); Marina Korchak - chief of Cabinet of drama theatres of the Union of theatrical figures of Russia (Moscow); artistic director of the festival, chairman of the Union of theatrical figures of Tatarstan Farid Bikchentaev and director of the festival Ilfir Yakupov .
The issues of organization and development of the festival, principle of selecting theatres-participants, festival grounds and other interested questions were debated.
Artistic director of the festival Farid Bikchentayev underlined that XI «Nauruz a crossroad: «First festivals were built such way to show all the theatres of our Turkic family. But that was more festival of friendship of peoples than a theatrical event. Now, selection of performances for the festival is more rigid, and this is right. We should see how theatrical process is progressing in Turkic world».
Irina Myagkova during a press conference marked that Kamal theatre thanks to «Nauruz » became a leader among the Turkic theatres. «In each language group there is always a theatre-patron. For instance, at the Finn-Ugor festival, people stand in awe to Finnish theatres. In Turkic world, a Turkish theatre once was a leader, but by artistic parameters their theatre is difficult to refer to leaders. Kazan took responsibility for arranging «Nauruz – this is an immense responsibility and at the same time a political merit, And I can clear-cut say that today Tatarstan and Tatar theatre after Kamal is a leader».
