Traditional festive of Russian folklore «Karavon»  took place in a village Russkoye Nikolskloye    of RT Laishev region.

A festive  «Karavon» on the day of miracle maker St. Nickolas has been held in a village Russkoye Nikolskopye  still since XVI century. In  1988,   «Karavon» was restored in the kind of  a festive of Russian folklore song. Since 1993,  it  has obtained a status of folklore festival.  By every year, number of the participants is growing. This year over 150 collectives have come  from all Tatarstan  and 7 regions of Russia.

Lovers of Russian culture, old song creativity, folklore collectives from all Russia   traditionally come for «Karavon». Masters of traditional folk crafts –willow weaving,  lacework , ceramics, engraving on wood, smith craft present their works.

President of the Republic Tatarstan  Rustam Minnikhanov took part  in the event. He visited museum of «Karavon», trade shops on Russian courtyard, tested  strength  in traditional game  - gorodki, joined  festive round dance. Honorable guests were accompanied by participants of folk,  song and dance ensembles.

Head of Lashev region Mikhail Afanasyev welcomed the guests of the festival,  “«Karavonн»  has become a cultural  brand, it widens  borders, participants and viewers, by each year,  become more and more», -  he mentioned.

President of Tatarstan  Rustam Minnikhanov  addressed to the «Karavon» participants and guests with a welcome speech. «This is very demanded  festive, which our ancestors have managed to preserve,  and we should continue their cause since without history we have no future, - R. Minnikhanov considers. – I am very thankful to those people, who managed to create this environment and keep it. We are proud that we have such a festive in Tatarstan».

President of Tatarstan handed number of awards and gratitude, and   a gift certificate to the Center of Russian folklore of Kazan, and after official part, a  concert  of folklore collectives  took place on the main stage, President press service informs.
