The program of the XV International Festival "Nauruz" has been announced

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a press conference dedicated to the 15th Nauruz International Theater Festival of Turkic Peoples. From June 7 to 13, 2021, Kazan will host the XV International Theater Festival of Turkic Peoples "Nauruz". The festival program includes 25 theaters from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the national republics of Russia.

"The holding of the festival this year is notable for the fact that it takes place in the Year of Native Languages ​​and National Unity, announced in the Republic of Tatarstan by President Rustam Minnikhanov," said Yulia Adgamova, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.

“If the last festival was dedicated to Bashkortostan, then this year“ Nauruz ”will be held under the auspices of the theatrical art of the Northern Turks. In total, 2 theaters from Khakassia, as well as theaters from Altai and Tuva, will take part in the festival, - said the artistic director of the festival Farid Bikchantaev. - The repertoire of the festival is traditionally diverse: there are world classics, ethnic parables, and modern drama. In total, the festival will bring together over 500 participants. "

“We have included the Theater of the Indigenous Minorities of the North in our program this year. The theater will participate for the first time. Few people speak the language in which the play will be performed, ”said the director.

For the first time, the Jizzakh Musical Drama Theater from Uzbekistan will come to the festival. “We usually collaborated with the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater, but no applications were received from them,” the speaker said.

The performances of XV "Nauruz" will be presented at 6 theatrical venues in Kazan: the Big and Small Halls of the Kamala Theater, the Big and Small Halls of the Ekiyat Puppet Theater, the Tinchurin Theater, and the Kariev Theater. Performances will also be performed outdoors on the embankment of Lake Kaban.

In 2020, Naruz was held online and gathered more than 700 participants from 33 regions of Russia.
