Regional art exhibition «Big Volga - XI» opens in Kazan

June 5,  2013, an art exhibition «Big Volga –XI» opens in Kazan.   Exhibition will be formed  by efforts of 13 branches of Russia Union of artists, realizing their activity in the Volga federal district.

The organizers of the exhibition, aimed at supporting exhibition project of picture art, appeared to be Russia Union of artists, RT Ministry of culture, Perm krai Ministry of culture and mass communications, Mari El Ministry of culture, Tatarstan Union of artists.

The exhibition will be presented on the platforms of  Kazan, Perm and Yoshkar - Ola.

Present   XI   joint exhibition of the Volga artists opens its exhibition on the eve of  World summer Universiade that imposes high responsibility as on its participants, so on  the organizers of  «Big Volga».

Over   1000 authors form   13 regions of federal district  will present about  3000 works. 

A full-color catalogue  with information on activity of regional branches  of Russia Union of artists  in the Volga area with electronic version will presented.

The main objective of the project   to emphasize diversification of cultures  of this important in economic and ethnic relations region of Russia, to promote development of inter-regional and inter-ethnic creative connections.

First exhibition   «Big Volga» took place in the  year  1964,  in the city of Samara  (Kuybyshev ) as review of best  achievements of regional art. Gradually,  the exhibition  «Big  Volga»  becomes a sign event  in a cultural life of the Volga area.  It gave the Russian culture number of outstanding names of painters of our republic  such as   H. Yakupov, L. Fattakhov, V. Kudelkin, А.Mazitov, I. Zaripov, V. Fedorov, I Rafikov  and others.

The session of exhibition committee will be held on April  17-18, at the Exhibition  hall on address   str.К.Marx, 57, Kazan. The exhibition committee of «Big Volga»  consists of chairmen of regional branches,  art critics,  members of secretariat of Russia Union of artists. Seeing of about  3000 works from  13  regions of Russia of different genres: painting, graphics, sculpture, placards, monumental art, decorative-applied art and folk art, scenery art of theatre and cinema temple art, art critics  created for last 5 years is expected.

Show of works  by schedule:

April 17 – Ulyanovsk , N. Novgorod, Perm, Samara,  Saratov,  Tolyatti , Orenburg.

April 18 - Yoshkar-Ola, N.Chelny,  Izhevsk, Cheboksary, Saransk, Kazan.
