«Classic and modernity»: program of Nuriev’s festival -2013 determined

The program of XXVI  International festival of classic ballet named after Rudolf Nuriev  is  announced.

We remind that a forum will be held on the scene of Tatar academic theatre of opera and from May 14 to 27, 2013 and is devoted to 75th anniversary of outstanding ballet dancer.

For two weeks, within the  forum, 9 performances and 3 concerts  are expected. Most part of festival evenings will be given to classic ballets. The masterpieces of XIX choreographers M. Pitipa, A. Gorsky, L. Ivanov J. Perrot – ballet «Don Quixote»,  «Giselle», «La Bayadere», «The Corsair», «Swan Lake» will be offered to spectators.

Soviet classic of   XX century will be presented by  «Anyuta» in choreography of V. Vasiliev and  «Shurale of  L.Yakobson. The program includes also  2 author’s performances, put  by contemporary ballet masters and going in such version only in Kazan, - this is a major «Spartak»  of G. Kovtun and romantic  «La Dame aux camelias » of А.Polubentsov. The main parts in all shows are  performed  by invited dancers, soloists  of leading   theatres of Russia and  Europe.

First time, within the festival in Kazan, the  students  and graduates of Moscow academy of choreography – the oldest in Russia educational institution with which activity making and development of national ballet school is connected, will perform. The concert named  «Classic and modernity» will present as pearls of  «old » choreography so  numbers of modern authors never performed in Kazan.

Finale of the  XXVI festival will become  2 gala-concerts  «Rudolf Nuriev. Dance with Eternity...». Participation in concerts has been  confirmed    by  recognized stars of the world ballet stage, outstanding dancers from Russia, Germany, Korea, Japan, Ukraine. Director-producer  – Alexandr Polubentsov (St. Petersburg).
