Sharif Kamal literary award  announced in Tatarstan

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Museum of the History of Tatar Literature with the memorial apartment of Sharif Kamal (House of the Tatar Book) established a literary award named after Sharif Kamal for young writers in the nominations "prose" (story, short story, short story, non-fiction) and "literary translation".

The award  has been  established with the aim of popularizing  literary heritage of Sharif Kamal, identifying talented young authors writing in the genre of "prose" and working in the genre of "literary translation", developing small genres, stimulating the literary activity of young authors, attracting the attention of the general public to the phenomenon of a living literary process.

Schoolchildren, students of secondary schools and universities, authors from 12 to 30 years old can apply for the Sharif Kamal literary prize. Another goal of the competition is to familiarize young translators with the work by f Sharif Kamal, develop  direction of literary translation, popularize and promote the works of the Tatar classics in foreign languages.

Stages:

1) by December 15, the collection of works by  young writers and translators is carried out, they must be sent to the e-mail of the organizing committee of the competition: kamalpremiyese@yandex.ru

2) experts select works and translations, conduct master classes, webinars with young authors. At this stage, we introduce the members of the commission and young authors.

3) the results of the competition are determined at the end of December.

The presentation of  literary prize based on the results of the competition in two nominations will take place at the Museum of the History of Tatar Literature with the memorial apartment of Sharif Kamal (House of the Tatar Book) at the end of December.
