21 February 2013, Thursday

From  April 9 to 12,  2013, a tour of St. Petersburg   state  Boris Eifman’s Theatre of ballet   will take place on the stage of M. Jalil Tatar academic theatre  of opera and ballet .A legendary choreographer, for the first time, will present the performances «Karamazovs»  and «Anna Karenina»  in Kazan.

Founded in 1977, the theatre of ballet under the conduct of Boris Eifman, today is known all the world as  a collective, presenting  contemporary  Russian choreographic art. Professionals consider that Eifman had widened  rigid frames of academic ballet  almost up to unthinkable sizes, having remained true to the  classic basis, he  created contemporary intellectual drama ballet.

The performances of choreographer-philosopher Eifman- this is the combination of classic dance with acrobatic, rhythmic gymnastics, cinema, color and even a word. Master himself defines genre of  his works as «psychological ballet» »:  by language of dance, the artiste frankly speaks with a spectator about complex and troubling sides of human being –quests of life essence, confrontation between  spiritual and material in intimate world of human being, searching for truth.

The theatre troupe will present in Kazan  2 «hits»  of the repertoire  – these are ballets  «Karamazovs»  by novel of F. Dostoevsky on music of S. Rakhmaninov, R. Vagner, М.Musorgsy  (April 9 - 10)  and  «Anna Karenina» by the same novel of L. Tolstoi on music of P. Tchaikovsky  (April 11 - 12).  The performances have never been shown in Kazan.

All the main list of the troupe  will be engaged  in productions of  «Karamazovs»y and  «Anna Karenina» -47 unique dancers, having passed  not a simple selection to B. Eifman’s company. Apropos, there are no primes and premieres, all the soloists are equal:  tall and plastic  Eifmnan’s dancers, as critics mark ,  «soar in the air, as if   free of earthy gravitation; they do not know limits in command  of their body». The performances will go under phonogram, сspecial light equipment and unusual scenery  brought from St. Petersburg.
