Exhibition «Treasuries of the Sarmatians » opens in Display hall of Elabuga museum-reserve

From  April18 to May 30, an exhibition «Treasuries of the Sarmatians»  from the stocks of  Azov historical-archeological and paleontological museum-reserve will be exposed in Display hall       of Elabuga state museum-reserve.

The exposition counts over two thousand absolutely unique exhibits. There are  the works of ancient art, found  by archeologists in the territory of Rostov oblast, in  sarmatian mounds.    They reflect a spiritual world and cultural originality of the ancient  steppe population. The exhibition presents  amphora, pitchers, cups and vessels for wine drinking; various items of everyday life; arms: knifes, daggers, swords; golden and bronze decorations, different beads, slings and bracelets, cult things.

Among the most impressive exhibits  — decorations of horse harness, extracted by the scientists from the Sarmatian   hiding. Its bottom  was, literally, covered by small golden plates of different forms.  

The exhibition  «Treasuries of the Sarmatians»  exposed in Tatarstan only in Elabuga town.
