The Republican Prize named after G.R. Derzhavin is awarded to writers for especially significant works in the field of literature (poetry, prose, literary translation, journalism, literary criticism), which received wide public recognition, created in Russian and (or) Tatar, popularizing G.'s work R. Derzhavin, and lawyers for scientific research in the field of jurisprudence (monographs). Works and studies (hereinafter referred to as works) must be published within the last five years, but no later than one year prior to submission for the award.
In accordance with the Regulation on the Republican Prize named after G.R. Derzhavin, the nomination of works for the award is made by the executive bodies of state power of the Republic of Tatarstan, organizations (including scientific and public organizations, educational institutions of higher education, theaters, museums, libraries, cultural and leisure organizations), local authorities. Works are put forward at meetings of collegiums, presidiums, secretariats, academics and art councils, at meetings of the labor collective and other collegial bodies of the organization.
The works nominated by an individual author and a team of authors consisting of no more than five people are put forward for the award.
The prize is awarded once a year in the amount of two prizes, each in the amount of 200.0 thousand rubles, one in the field of literature and one in the field of jurisprudence.
