December 20, the Hazine Gallery( Kremlin,) at 16.00, a jubilee exhibition of Sofia Kuzminykh, one of the leading masters of Tatar decorative-applied arts, will take place. The exhibition is devoted to 85th anniversary of the artist. The exposition presents about 50 items made by Sofia Danilovna and some works in cooperation with her daughter Svetlana Garbuzova.
Sofia Kuzminykh, having mastered traditional Tatar technique of skin mosaic, engraving and embroidery on leather and painting on fabric, began to apply them in creating non-typical for Tatar costume articles: gloves, belts, bags and wallets.
The creativity of laureate of RT Ministry of culture named after Baki Urmanche Sofia Kuzminykh got a wide popularity not only in Tatarstan but in Russia likewise, zone exhibitions were held «Big Volga » (1969-1998), the exhibition of decorative –applied arts in St, Petersburg (1990), personal exhibitions (1978-2006). In 2002, she took part in the World exhibition-fair in Dijon, France.
The exhibition to last till January 27, 2013.
