The best, according to the expert commission, was Inessa Klyukina from the Republic of Tatarstan. She has won the Volunteer of the Year nomination.
Since childhood, the girl was unable to walk due to a back injury, and after five operations at 25, she was finally able to stand up. She always dreamed of being an actress, host or singer, and even took part in the beauty contest among girls with disabilities “Pearl of Tatarstan”. It was the love of creativity and the desire to do something useful for people with disabilities that prompted Inessa to create an inclusive project.
Inessa received a prize for the project by a creative inclusive studio "E-motion", which began working in September 2016 in Kazan. Its participants are young people over 18 with and without disabilities. The mission of the studio is formation of a positive image of a person with a disability through theatrical creativity, as well as the expansion of an inclusive community. 35 shows in 10 cities of Russia organized by the project were attended by more than 6 thousand spectators. The award was presented to the girl by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Volunteering helps me maintain good health. I had a desire to wake up every morning. Now I do not undergo special treatment, I only do plastic and dance during theatrical rehearsals in the project. But they tell me that I began to look better, although I put all of myself into performances. Everything fades into the background when you are really interested in living, ”Inessa said.
The winners of the contest “Volunteer of Russia - 2019” received grants in the amount of up to 2 million rubles for development of their initiatives. This year, more than 28 thousand projects were submitted to the competition, in implementing of which more than 560 thousand people were involved.
