Irada Ayupova spoke at a conference of representatives of public organizations involved in the development of Japanese-Russian relations

The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Irada Ayupova, took part in the 21st Conference of representatives of regional public organizations involved in  developing  Japanese-Russian relations. The meeting was held at the Embassy of Japan in the Russian Federation.

Irada Ayupova began her presentation with a presentation of the cultural and tourist potential of Tatarstan. The Minister said that the cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan with Japan is continuous and touches  a variety of areas - theater, cinema, visual arts, music and choreography, education and science. Among  jointly organized and conducted events of the last decade are exhibitions, tours of creative groups, film screenings, festivals, seminars, creative and business meetings. Among the largest events are Japan Culture Days in the Republic of Tatarstan, which took place from October 30 to November 10, 2018. As part of the Days of Culture, the Kazan Kremlin State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve hosted the opening of an exhibition of icons made by the wife of the Ambassador of Japan to Russia, Mrs. Kodzuki, and a mini-exhibition of tugras by Vladimir Popov dedicated to famous Japanese.

At the «Mir» cinema, Japanese films were screened for several days. Joint theater projects were also implemented. In addition, on the basis of Kazan Federal University, the international conference “Russia - Japan: Politics, History and Culture”, as well as the IX regional contest of performances in Japanese “Bunsei” took place.

“In 2019, cultural cooperation was continued. So, in May of this year: the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the annual «Mad  Day»  music festival of academic music in Tokyo; ballet dancers Takatoshi Machiyama and Mana Kuvabra performed at the XXXII Rudolf Nuriev International Classical Ballet Festival. In September, the leaders of state museums and museum reserves of the republic took part in the XXV General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in Tokyo, ”said Irada Ayupova.

According to the speaker, industry cooperation with the Japanese side is carried out by other ministries and departments of Tatarstan - in particular, the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan. For example, entertaining cultural events, such as acquaintance with the cultural musical and culinary traditions of the region and Russia, were presented at the Kendo International Sports Youth Camp “Russia - Japan: Friendship Sports Bridge”, which took place in Kazan in June 2019. as part of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation and the Youth Exchange Program supported by the Embassy of Japan in Russia.

One of the long-term events related to the elements of educational and business tourism was 1 seminar of the BI VISIT TO JAPAN project developed by the Autonomous Non-profit Organization “Tatar-Japanese Cultural and Information Center“ Sakura ”. The project is aimed not only at getting to know different areas of Japanese business, but also at enhancing the business culture for the young generation working in different industries.

At the end of her speech, the Minister of Culture presented to the conference participants about 15 joint events of 2020-2022, noting that some of them have already been previously agreed upon, and some are still under consideration. Among them are an international conference, a theater festival, exhibitions, a sports seminar, an educational program, work on the archive of the personal files of Tatar emigrants discovered in Japan, and much more.
