Haris Yakupov is a recognized artist and painter, master of thematic paintings, addressing the most important topics of history and modernity. In his works, he continued traditions of world and domestic realistic art. During a long creative career, Haris Abdrakhmanovich created more than 300 works, including 20 large canvases and more than 200 sketches in various genres of painting. His contribution to the book and easel graphics, to the art of the poster is significant. As a teacher and mentor, he gave a start to the life of a whole galaxy of talented artists of the Volga republics.
“A person is always a person. The personality of Haris Yakupov is reflected in all his affairs, creativity and in the atmosphere that was then present in the community of artists, ”the Minister of Culture noted in her speech.
Haris Abdrakhmanovich Yakupov was awarded the orders of Lenin, World War 2 degree, Red Star, Friendship of Peoples, "Badge of Honor", "For Merit to the Fatherland" 4th degree, "For Merit to the Republic of Tatarstan", medals. He is a laureate of State Prizes, Honored Artist of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and the RSFSR, People's Artist of the RSFSR and the USSR, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, winner of the PAX Gold Medal.
The work of X. A. Yakupov reflects the history of the Soviet people, the history of the country. His characters are not ordinary observers, but direct participants in life ("Shepherds", "Portrait of a piggy by M. Galiullina", "Gold of Tatarstan", "Chelninsky beauties"). According to Farid Kharisov, the son of an outstanding Tatar artist, there are no invented characters in his father’s works, he always wrote only those people with whom he spoke and knew personally: pilot Mikhail Devyatayev, battalion commander Vladimir Mysin and many others.
The exhibition, which opened at the Khazine Gallery, includes works from the collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan and private collections. The exhibition is complemented by the workshop of the artist Haris Yakupov, which presents the works by Shamil Shaydullin, Firinat Khalikov, Farid Yakupov, Zufar Gimaev and other artists who studied at the academic workshop of the Russian Academy of Arts in Kazan (since 1977).
