“Just a week ago, we were in Istanbul as part of the official delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan. And despite the fact that it was an economic forum, the idea of the unity of cultures was heard in presentation of entrepreneurs, politicians and government officials, ”Irada Ayupova shared her impressions of the working trip. The Minister expressed interest in further cooperation and joint cultural projects.
Ahmet Sadyk Dogan, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan, recalled that at the beginning of April, Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky and Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Ersoy launched the Cross Year of Culture and Tourism. The ceremony took place on the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theater and ended with the showing of the Turkish opera Troya, which was based on Homer's Iliad. In his opinion, the announcement of 2019 by the Cross Year of Culture and Tourism of Russia and Turkey will allow cultural ties to develop even more productively.
The Director General of the State Theaters of Turkey, at the request of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke in detail about the work of his organization. The department is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and unites 58 sites throughout the country. Separately, Mustafa Kurt stopped at major international festivals held in Turkey.
“We would like to see Tatarstan groups among the participants,” he continued, “to also exchange directors and artists”.
The cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan with the Turkish Republic in recent years has been developing quite actively. Turkish filmmakers are regular participants of the Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema. Exchange takes place in the theater field. Thus, in early May, Menzelinsky Tatar State Drama Theater named after S. Amutbayev performed the play “Iblis” at the International Black Sea Theater Festival in Trabzon, and in June the Konya State Theater under the State Theaters Management of the Turkish Republic will present the production «Uyan» at the International Theater festival "Nauruz" in Kazan. Besides, joint exhibition projects, round tables, etc are held.
