Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema Festival has signed 7 cooperation agreements with international film festivals

The Directorate of the XV Kazan International  Festivalof Muslim Cinema   has signed 7 cooperation agreements with film festivals from Bangladesh, Nepal, Syria, Tajikistan, as well as such Russian cities as Sochi, Dagestan and Rostov. The signing took place within the framework of the International Economic Summit "KazanSummit-2019", which takes place at the Kazan Expo site.

The first agreement with the Directorate of the Kazan Film Festival was signed by  director of the International Film Festival "Didor" (Tajikistan) Safar Hakdodov. He expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation with representatives of Tatarstan.

Other official partners of the IMFF include: the International Film Festival on Human Rights in Nepal (Nepal); Dhaka International Film Festival (Bangladesh); short film festival for children and young people (Syria); Dagestan International Film Festival, Sochi International Film Festival and International Festival of Motivational Films (Rostov).

“We are accepting films about human rights from different parts of the world. The last time was more than 2 thousand applications. We hope that after signing the agreement, our cooperation with the Kazan Film Festival will be even more fruitful, ”said Arun de Joshi, director of the film festival on human rights in Nepal.

Director of the Dhaka Film Festival, Ahmed Mostafa Zamal, said that this was his second visit to Kazan and expressed the hope that the signed agreement would improve the performance of both film festivals and open new filmmakers.

The president of the festival of motivational films, Oleg Taktarov, noted that after the festival began to take place in Rostov, there were many more tourists in the city. “Our film festival is also a sports festival. We consider these developments to be very valuable, they should be shared. I hope that we will cooperate more actively with Tatarstan, ”he said. Oleg Taktarov also proposed to hold a festival of motivational films in Kazan.

The agreement, in particular, notes that the document is “concluded within the framework of the implementation of the principles of dialogue and interaction in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, which the Kazan Film Festival and its partners proclaim”. It is planned that the parties will encourage mutual exchanges in order to familiarize viewers from different countries with cultural heritage, traditional values ​​and the current state of cinematography through the joint organization of festivals and film screenings.
