On the eve of the World Theater Day, as well as in the framework of the Year of the Theater in Russia, Tatarkino launches a large-scale project “CINEMA + THEATER”. It is designed for the whole year and includes activities that combine these two areas. On March 26, at 6:30 pm, the project will be opened by the first theatrical production on the stage of the Mir cinema - the performance “The Case of the deacon Viskovaty ”. The performances of the play will closely overlap with the thematic video sequence on the big movie screen.
The Case of Deacon Viskovaty tells about one of the most tragic and undeservedly forgotten figures of Russian history - Ivan Viskovaty - about the first head of the Russian diplomatic service. Professional Russian diplomacy began with him. Being at the peak of his political career, Viskovaty unexpectedly enters into a dispute with authoritative church circles led by Metropolitan Macarii, defending his views on iconography.
The play involves actors Iskander Nurizyanov, Ivan Balashov, Rezeda Hadiullina; the production director is Veronika Chepegina, the author of the text is Stepan Lapshin. The performance is realized by the creative laboratory "Ugol". The production of the Case of Deacon Viskovaty is timed to the days of the Great Orthodox Fast.
Tatarkino plans to hold such events every month. The priority directions of the “CINEMA + THEATER” project will be original productions using a large screen, organizing creative meetings with cultural and art workers, in particular theater actors, directors and much more.
