From May 1 to May 12, Moscow will host the Open Musical Spring Contest of Performers Moscow Spring A Cappella in Moscow as part of the Moscow Seasons urban street cycle.
The founder of the contest is the Government of Moscow, the organizer is Department of Trade and Services of the city of Moscow.
Creative groups of three categories are invited to participate in the show (small vocal groups; medium vocal groups - from 5 people; large vocal groups - from 10 people). The competition program may include works of various styles and directions of music: jazz, soul, rock, pop, blues, gospel (the genre of spiritual Christian music), ethno-folk, folk songs in original arrangements; popular songs of Russian and foreign composers of the twentieth century, a capella arrangements of classical instrumental works.
The first stage of the creative competition will be held in absentia, according to the video recordings of the collective performances. Registration of participants and reception of materials will end at 18:00 Moscow time on April 1, 2019. The winners of the qualifying stage will go to the main tour, which will be held in Moscow from May 1 to May 12, 2019. Their performances will be held on the open areas of the central streets of the Russian capital, in squares, on the balconies of administrative buildings.
According to the rules of the festival, the winner of the grand prix will be selected by the decision of the professional jury, taking into account the results of the audience voting.
The total prize fund of the competition is 17,000,000 rubles. The main prize is 6,200,000 rubles.

In 2018, the international competition of a cappella singing “Moscow Spring A SarrePa” aroused great interest among performers and vocal groups in Russia and abroad. The competitive program included 34 foreign teams from 15 countries (USA, Germany, Italy, France, England, China, Kazakhstan, Israel, India, Latvia, Korea, Hungary, Portugal, Georgia, Ukraine) and 150 Russian bands and performers from 40 regions Russia.
