Dear friends!

On May 24, we celebrate Day of Slavonic writing and culture - a festive, which is rooted in deep ancientry and is dedicated to the memory of outstanding enlighteners Cyril and Mefodius. Their great heritage – Slavonic alphabet - laid in foundation of many national languages, granted possibility of development and spiritual enrichment for many peoples.
This festive for our republic has since last become an international one. Much is being done in Tatarstan for strengthening interethnic and inter-confessional peace and accord. Thanks to this, national cultural traditions of one nation become closer and understandable for residents of the republic.
Numerous measures dedicated to the Day of Slavonic writing and culture will be held in Orthodox temples, concert halls, educational institutions of the republic. Major museums and libraries will present unique samples of icon painting, Slavonic manuscripts and old printed books. stored in their funds

Let this festive become one more reminding of sources of national cultures and symbol of commonness of our spiritual values and historical traditions. I am confident that careful attitude to remarkable traditions, native language is a firm basis of connection between generations , pledge of spiritual growth and uniting all nations, living in Russia .
