The reader’s conference “Chingiz Aitmatov - a phenomenon of world culture” took place in the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan

November 15, 2018, at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kremlevskaya St., 33) the reader’s conference “Chingiz Aitmatov - a phenomenon of world culture”, timed to the 90th anniversary of the writer’s birth, was held.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the scientific community, public organizations, workers of culture and art, students of the Kazan Innovative Institute named after  V.G. Timiryasov, students of MBOU "Lyceum № 177" and ordinary amateurs  of Chingiz Aitmatov. The main subject of discussion at the conference was the novel "Scaffold".

Prior to the beginning of the main part of the conference, the participants gladly visited the exhibition of books “The Universe of Chingiz Aitmatov”. The leading librarian of the department of exhibitions and cultural programs Burganova Khalida told the most interesting moments from the life and work of the writer.

The readers' conference began with a greeting from Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Khadiyev. Wishing the meeting fruitful work, he gave the floor to Sariev Zakir, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Public Organization “National-Cultural Autonomy of the Kyrgyz Republic of Tatarstan”.

Those present listened with great interest to the reports made during the conference. The report by   professor, doctor of philology at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University Galimullin Foat spoke about Chingiz Aitmatov's lineage and his ties with Tatarstan. The emotional performance by the journalist and poetess Yunusova Asia about the multifaceted personality of Chingiz Aitmatov did not leave indifferent in the hall. Among the experts were Gurelli Alina, leading adviser of the network interaction department, international and interregional cooperation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mukanbetov Baishenbek, representative of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan YNTYMAK, Marat Zakirov, chairman of the board of the regional public organization “National-cultural autonomy of Kyrgyz in  Republic of Tatarstan”.

Head of the Department of Periodicals of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, Makhnina Assiya told about the novel “Scaffold”, stressing that the problems raised by the author are relevant today. Students of the Kazan Innovation Institute. V.G. Timiryasov recited excerpts from the novel "Scaffold". Then other conference participants joined in reading excerpts from the book. The book-trailer to the novel “Scaffold” has aroused interest and set up the conference participants to exchange views and publicly discuss the book. Elvira Gilmanova, moderator of the event, head of the user service department of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, skillfully led the discussion, asking the participants to better understand what they read. Everyone was able to share their opinions and conclusions that he made while reading.

The readers' conference provided an opportunity to conduct a deep and comprehensive analysis of the work and helped to discover new facets of the cult novel “Scaffold”.
