September 18, 2018 at 15.00 at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan an exhibition of the works by the participants of the 13th International Art Symposium on Contemporary Art opens on the theme: "Folk games and Fun". The exhibition project is held within the framework of cooperation between the National Museum and Yelabuga State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve.
This year from July 9 to 18 in Yelabuga, the XIII International Art Symposium on Contemporary Art "People's Games and Fun" was held. The history of art symposiums began in 2006, when the 1 All-Russian practical symposium on contemporary painting was held, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of II. Shishkin and 1000 anniversary of Yelabuga. Almost immediately the art symposiums acquired an ethnic orientation with the aim of preserving the historical memory, national identity and the development of interethnic cultural dialogue. Since 2010, the project has received international status.
43 artists from 12 countries took part in the art symposium this year, including Ethiopia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Moldova, Portugal, Tajikistan, Hungary, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, China, Belarus and the eight republics of the Russian Federation - Kalmykia, Crimea, Khakassia, North Ossetia-Alania, Bashkortostan, Mari El, Sakha (Yakutia), Tatarstan. All of them are united by one theme: games of different peoples - Turkic, Slavic, Finno-Ugric, games related to different ways of life - sedentary or nomadic, with its various spheres - social, spiritual, etc.
The exhibition presents 54 works of painting and graphics, reflecting the author's vision of the topic of folk games. Guests will see the works by such famous artists of Tatarstan as Salavat Gilyazetdinov, Ilnur Siraziev, Alexander Petrov, Mikhail Kuznetsov, Alsu Timergalina, and others.
The exhibition will run until October 15.
