Festival "East-West: Russian Patriotic Domestic Wars" will be held at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan

On August 4-5, Kazan will once again host a large-scale celebration for history lovers. The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan invites everyone to the Interregional Military-Historical Festival "East-West: Russian Domestic Wars" organized by the renowned "Vityaz" Reconstruction Club (headed by V.V. Khabarov).

In 2017, the East-West festival won the grand prize of the national award in the field of event tourism RUSSIAN EVENT AWARDS in nomination "Best tourist event of a historical orientation".

The culmination of the festival is the reconstruction of episodes of hostilities, which will be presented by members of Russian military-historical clubs, clad in exact replicas of uniforms and equipment of various historical epochs. Military-historical reconstruction is an important element in a military-patriotic education of youth, they awaken interest in the military history of their country, pride in the exploits of our ancestors.

The program of August 4 is dedicated to the epoch of the Patriotic War of 1812. All interested persons will be able to see the soldier's bivouac, where episodes of marching life of the beginning of the XIX century will be played out; to get acquainted with the traditions of duels. In the museum building there will be held a ball and a master class on dances and ballroom entertainments; a concert of songs and romances, a display of the reconstruction of costumes will not leave indifferent the guests of the museum. The main event will be the reconstruction of episodes of military operations during the Napoleonic wars.

August 5 will be dedicated to the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. In 2018, the 75th anniversary of the defeat of German troops by Soviet troops during the Battle of Kursk is celebrated. The second day of the festival will be timed to coincide with this memorable date. The audience will see episodes of the battles of the Orlovsko-Kursk offensive operation, namely the battle for the liberation of the city of Orel. The city of Orel was freed on August 5, 1943.

The halls of the museum will be filled with thematic lectures, interactive dance programs, as well as a musical component. Show of fashionable costumes of the forties, stylish photo studio, concert "Songs of the War Years", master class on bayonet battle. All this will help to recreate, if not reality, the spirit of the age.

Within the framework of the festival for children there will be a creative workshop "City of Masters", contests and thematic animation will be organized.

Fair masters will amaze visitors with a variety of goods: guests will be able to purchase unique handmade products from talented artisans.

In the halls of the museum these days there will be exhibitions devoted to the Patriotic Wars of Russia: "The Thunderstorm of the Twelfth Year" and "Tatarstan in the Years of the Great Patriotic War".
