The premiere of the Tatarstan film "Hosanna" will be held in Kazan

July 18, at 18.00 in the cinema "Cinema 5" (t / c Park-House, street Yamasheva, 46) will premiere the film "Hosanna" directed by Alexei Barykin. The picture is dedicated to the life of Elizabeth Feodorovna Romanova, sister of the last Russian empress. The main roles in the film were performed by well-known Russian actors Alexander Mikhailov ("Love and Pigeons"), Andrei Merzlikin ("Boomer"), as well as the People's Artist of Russia, ballerina Ilze Liepa. After the show, a creative meeting will take place with the authorss of the film.

The premiere of the movie is timed to the 100th anniversary of the murder of the royal family in Yekaterinburg. and the murder of Elizabeth Feodorovna in Alapaevsk in 1918. In memory of these events, the film will be shown simultaneously in Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Alapaevsk, and later - in Moscow.

The picture was created with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan with the financial support of the Kazan patron Andrei Kolmakov. During the year the film was shot in Jerusalem, Darmstadt, Wiesbaden, Kazan, Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Alapaevsk. Especially for the production staff in the film pavilion of the Kazan State Institute of Culture, historical scenery with authentic props of that time was built, and costumes were sewn according to the sketches by  the artist Nesterov.

Reference: Elizaveta Fedorovna - the most famous Russian saint of the twentieth century. Granddaughter of Queen Victoria, the most beautiful woman of her time, she married Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich. After the murder of her husband, she engaged in charity, founded the Mafia-Mariinsky monastery in Moscow, and in 1918 was brutally killed by the Bolsheviks: she was thrown  alive in a mine in Alapaevsk. Later Elizabeth Feodorovna was canonized by the Orthodox Church. The film "Hosanna" is dedicated to these dramatic events. Much attention in the film is paid to the stay of Elizabeth Feodorovna in Kazan and her contribution to the arrangement of the cathedral on the site of the phenomenon of the Kazan icon of the Virgin. At present, this monumental church is being restored and will soon be open to the parishioners.
