«Enchanted roamer» first time to visit Kazan

February 14, within XXX Shalyapin festival, the opera by R. Schedrin «Enchanted roamer» to be staged on the scene of Kazan opera and ballet theatre. The Mariinsky theatre company comes purposely to the capital of Tatarstan for Kazan premier. All in all, about 170 people are engaged (orchestra, chorus, soloists). The Kazan public with special impatience waits for the conductor Valery Gergiev, who is a music director of Petersburg theatre. In the context of Shalyapin’s festival Valery Abisalovich performs first time.
The main parts in a performance will represent the soloists of Mariinsky theatre: Sergei Aleksashin (Flyagin), Andrei Popov (Duke), Kristina Kapustinskaya (gypsy Grusha). Kristina Kapustinskauya was bestowed the award “Best women’s role” for part of Grushenka in year 2009 of National theatrical festival “Golden mask”.
Arrival in festival of the whole company, undoubtedly, is a new step in progressing the forum since earlier only individual visiting soloists and conductors would come to perform on the productions. Such a practice will help to open new horizons as for Kazan spectators so for the theatre as a whole.
The guests from northern capital are expected on day of performance. Beginning of the opera at 19.00.
Before the performance at 18.00 in Rozovaya guest hall the press-conference is to granted with participation of:
- art manager -director of Mariinsky theatre Valery Gergiev;
- director of Tatar academic theatre and ballet Raufal Mukhmatzyanov.
