June 6, Tatarstan will celebrate the Day of the Russian language and the 219th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin

The main celebrations will be held traditionally in Kazan near the monument to Pushkin at the Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil. Exactly, at noon, here  a poetic holiday begins, at which famous poets and writers of our republic will perform. The event invited pupils and students, the creative community, as well as writers from Moscow. It is planned that before Kazan and guests of the city will speak the laureate of the awards "Antibucker" and "Big Book" Pavel Basinsky and the winner of the Pushkin Prize, Ildar Abuzyarov.

At 13.00, flowers will be laid on the monument to the poet. The ceremony will be attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and other officials. At 14.00, at  the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil will begin a festive concert with the participation of the masters of the arts of Tatarstan. A real gift for lovers  of Russian poetry and literature will be the poetic performance by  People's Artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoy.

In addition, events dedicated to the Day of the Russian language and the 219th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin will be held in all municipal districts of the republic, in cultural institutions, libraries, educational organizations where thematic exhibitions, concerts, creative meetings, open lessons and literary and musical evenings will be held.
