The exhibition "Journey to the Land of the Rising Sun" opens at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan

As part of the All-Russian action "Night of Museums" on May 19  the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan will host an exhibition dedicated to cross-cultural year in Japan and Russia.

The collection of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan  presents decorative and applied arts, sculpture and embroidery, the attributes of the Japanese warrior, which reflect the vivid manifestations of Japanese culture and traditions.

Of particular interest is the rare complex of armor and armament of the samurai of the XIX century. The world of the Japanese woman is represented through a woman's kimono, made of blue silk and decorated with embroidery in the form of flowers and butterflies - it dates back to the XIX century, a collection of bags and fans  "utiva".

At the exhibition you can see samples of Japanese porcelain, among which are the products of the Arita (Imari) workshops, which are the oldest and most famous place for the production of porcelain dishes in Japan. The subtlety and elegance of Japanese miniature sculpture emphasizes the Japanese's special attitude to nature and the desire for refinement.

The subject line is supplemented with visual materials - color woodcuts and photographs of scenes from the Japanese life of the early XX century.

In addition to authentic items from the collections of the National Museum of Tatarstan presented at the exhibition materials provided by the Japan Cultural Center "Hatokazan": it attributes holidays - the Day of the boys and  the Day of girls,  greeting cards, reflecting the tradition of contemporary Japanese.

The museum invites everyone to the opening of the exhibition on May 19 at 16.00.
