Rustem Galich (real name - Engalychev) was born and raised in Kazan. He graduated from the Maly Theater School - the Higher School of Theater named after Shchepkin - on the specialty "Actor of the artistic word", where he studied with the masters of the genre - Vladimir Mitrokhin and Arkady Smirnov. Since 2000 he has been living in New York, where he founded the "Theater of poetry and music of Rustem Galich."

The Music Literary Lecture Course was established on August 15, 1945 and today it is the oldest creative collective of the Tatar State Philharmonic named after Gabdulla Tukay. It included artists of the Variety and Concert Department, which since its inception in 1937 performed lecture tasks. On January 1, 1994, the Music Literary Lecture course was reorganized and became known as the Department of Opera and Chamber Music. In August 2012, the department was returned to its original name "Philharmonic Music and Literary Lecture Course", indicating its affiliation with the Philharmonic.
