The chairman of the Turkic World Cinema Association, the Soviet and Turkmen film director Khojakuli Narliev, who came to the press conference dedicated to the First International Festival of Turkic Cinema, spoke about the activities of the Association and the plans of the Festival of Turkic Cinema:
"Culture we learn through our history. And the history of cinema is rich, but, unfortunately, today the audience can not see nor favorite popular films, or neither new ones. The goal of the Turkic World Cinema Association is to demonstrate the best achievements of the Turkic cinema of recent years to the spectators of other countries, and also to pave the way for these films in the film distribution industry. We have high hopes for the Festival of Turkic Cinema. It will become an "Oscar" in the Turkic world, and glorify films on the international stage. "
The director of the Tatarino State Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, the executive director of the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, Milyausha Aytuganova, announced the list of films to be presented at the festival and substantiated their selection principle in the program.
"The main condition for the inclusion of films in the festival program - they must cover the traditions, characteristics, culture and life of their people. Turkic cinema has a very rich fund, besides, new films of good quality are created each year. We will promote them not only in the republic, in the country, but also in the Eurasian space. "
About events within the framework of the film festival told deputy of the State Council of the fifth convocation of the RT, director of the GU "House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan" Irek Sharipov:
"We could not stay away from such an event, we also decided to contribute to its organization. Representatives of the Turkic countries living in Tatarstan reacted positively to the news about the festival. Participants of the festival were invited to the celebration of Nauruz. And after the festival, films from the program will be shown in the regions of the republic."
Tatarstan has been chosen as a venue for the forum not at random. The decisive factor was the country's many years of experience in holding the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.
"At the jubilee of the X Kazan Film Festival, I was fortunate enough to be chairman of the jury," Khojakuli Nairliev recalled. - I was struck by the level of organization, but even more I was surprised by the Tatarstan viewer: during the film show in the hall, there were no free chairs, even in the passage there was no free space! After what I saw everywhere, I brought your festival as an example. You can do this and do it well, that's why the Turkic Film Festival will be held in Kazan for the first time ".
Film screenings within the framework of the festival will be held in the cinema "Mir". There will also be a meeting of the executive committee of the Association of Cinema of the Turkic world.
Reference: The International Festival of Turkic Cinema will be held for the first time in Kazan on March 21-25. The film forum will be attended by representatives of Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Our country at the festival will be presented by cinematographers of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Yakutia, Khakassia, the North Caucasus and the Chuvash Republic.
The idea of organizing such a festival arose last year at the first meeting of the Presidium of the Turkic World Cinema Association, initiated in Istanbul. The management of the Association included 9 well-known figures of cinema from different countries. The International Festival of Turkic Cinema meets the challenges of the new structure to promote the best films of the Turkic cinema, as well as to create a competitive film market, independent of the Western film industry. In the future, the forum will annually "move" from country to country, so the films will be presented to a broad target audience.
Tatarstan at the festival will present a film directed by Yuri Feting "Bibinur."
