Stars of the Shalyapin Festival will meet with the audience in the House of Actors
From 3 to 11 February in the House of Actor named after M. Salimzhanov a number of creative meetings with participants of the XXXVI International Opera Festival named after F.I. Shalyapin will be held. The series of meetings, called the lines of Fedor Shalyapin's famous autobiographical book (1873-1938) "Mask and Soul", is dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the birth of the great bass. The guests of the House of Actor will be Yefim Meisel (USA) - the director of the premiere performance Nabucco, which opens the current Shalyapin Festival, vocalists Boris Statsenko (Russia-Germany), Mikhail Svetlov (USA), Gulnora Gatina and Venera Protasova (Russia). Entrance to all events is free.
"International Shalyapin Festival traditionally attracts much attention of the public," says the project curator Zhanna Melnikova. - Many artists participating in the forum are bright, original personalities, interesting both on stage and in everyday life. We want the pleasure of communicating with the stars of the festival to be accessible not only to a narrow circle of theater actors, but also to a wide audience.
For the first joint project with the Union of Theater Workers of Tatarstan and the House of Actor n.a. M. Salimzhanov, we invited singers who were well acquainted with the Kazan public. This is Boris Statsenko and Mikhail Svetlov, who have repeatedly participated in the Shalyapin Festival, since the 1990s. They are young, successfully building the international career of the soloist of our theater Gulnora Gatina and Venera Protasova: a practical meeting with them should be of interest to creative youth and students. We also invited the director Yefim Meisel, who puts the premiere performance "Nabucco" at this festival. We would like that those who are interested will come to meet with him, "hook" the premier to arrange a kind of discussion of what he saw. "
