A lecture by Boris Pavlovich will be held in Kazan

December 25 (19:00) in the creative laboratory "Ugol (Corner)" an open lecture by the theater director Boris Pavlovich (St. Petersburg) will be held. Theme - "Theater and society: horizontal structures in contemporary art". Admission is free, by registration.

Director Boris Pavlovich for a long time was the artistic director of the Kirov Theater of Young People's Theater "Spassky Theater." At his direction the theater performances were repeatedly nominated for the main theater award of the country "Golden Mask": in 2009, for the performance "The Thick Notebook  and in 2010 for "The Visible Side of Life" (this performance will be shown in Kazan on the eve of the lecture).

Then Pavlovich was invited to the BDT named after G.Tovstonogov, where from 2013 to 2016 he headed the department of social and educational programs. In addition to the pedagogical laboratory, in BDT Pavlovich supervised the project "Meeting", within the framework of which he staged the famous inclusive play "The Language of Birds". Theater critics note that "The Language of Birds" has become a breakthrough in the sphere of inclusive theater in Russia. The performance was nominated for the "Golden Mask", and in 2017 the director Boris Pavlovich received a special jury prize for the St. Petersburg theater prize for young "Proryv (Breakthrough)" for staging.

Today, Pavlovich heads the space "Kvartira" with the participation of the fund for supporting art innovations "Alma Mater". "Kvartira" opened in November with the premiere of the performance "Childless conversations" for viewers with autistic disorders. And on December 16 the premiere of another inclusive performance was held - "Conversations" - with the participation of artists with autism from the center "Anton is near".

On the relations of society and theater, as well as on the use of so-called "horizontal structures" in contemporary art, Boris Pavlovich will speak at his lecture in Kazan. "The main value of horizontal art is not the author's statement, but the possibility of a spontaneous meeting, the launch of a chain reaction of spontaneous creativity, the realization of the dream of another person," the director notes.
