The viewers  will see recognized films of Azerbaijani production, shot in the spirit of the country's culture of lights - a country with centuries of history, peculiar customs and traditions. One of these paintings - "Stepmother" ("Ögey ana") - feature film, shot at the Baku Film Studio in 1958 by director Abib Ismailov. He tells the story of how the young stepmother gradually by love, kindness won the heart of a stepson, a wayward boy who does not want to recognize her.

Another film, worthy of attention, is the Soviet Azerbaijani musical comedy "Arshin mal alan" ("Arşın mal alan", directed by Rza Takhmasib, Nikolay Leshchenko), dubbed in 86 languages. The picture with a rich national flavor and sparkling folk humor will tell about the impatient young merchant, contrary to the laws of the fathers, eager to see his future companion of life before the wedding.

Films are shown in Russian.

Background: During the Soviet era, the ruling Communist Party viewed cinema as an important element in the ideological education of the citizens of the country. And in 1922 the leadership of the Azerbaijan SSR decided to create the country's first film factory, which became the predecessor of today's film studio Azerbaijanfilm. A year later the Azerbaijan Photo-Cinema Board (AFKU) was established. With him in the following years, cinemas were opened, a studio was organized for the preparation of national acting and directing personnel.

Today, the national cinema and film industry in Azerbaijan is actively developing. Films are being filmed, both artistic and documentary. Over the years of the Azerbaijan cinema, more than 300 paintings, over 1200 documentaries and hundreds of animated films were shot.
