Festival of Japanese cinema: between the lines about the most important

From December 15 to 19, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Embassy of Japan in Russia and the ANO, the Tatar-Japanese Cultural and Information Center "Sakura" will host the Festival of Japanese Cinema in the «Mir» cinema. The program, prepared for the audience of Kazan, includes 5 full-length films.

Reference: Japanese cinematography is one of the largest in the world, it combines traditions and modern visual language, spirituality and entertainment, exotics and universal humanistic values, poetry and drive. Japanese cinema is not an ordinary phenomenon, there are no scandalous heroes, large-scale explosions, supermen accustomed to Hollywood movies. Japanese cinema, first of all, refers to the soul of the viewer. The Japanese really appreciate the so-called inner sight, that is, the ability to see between the lines, to feel something not on the surface, not obvious.

In the cinema "Mir" moviegoers will be able to see films that are kept in the traditions of this mysterious and distant country. The films will be shown in the original language with subtitles. Also before the sessions will be master classes on Japanese culture.

In addition, on December 16, on the eve of the 2018 Russian cross-country year in Japan and Japan, in Russia will host a screening of Tatarstan's Halima film directed by Julia Zakharova and Bushido for sixteen-year-old  by   Tomoyuki Furumaya.

The program of the Festival of Japanese Cinema will be screened by the directors of Kenji Nakanishi "After the Season of Flowers", telling about the special beauty of Japan's nature during the flowering of cherry blossoms, the ancient love story of two young people who could not be together due to a number of very sad circumstances, and how In Japan, from ancient times, samurai concepts of duty and honor are highly valued.

Atmospheric picture "Buns of Happiness" ("Bread for joy") by documentary Yukiko Mishima will conquer its heroes and happy gastronomic history.

Tomoyuki Furumaya's film "Bushido for sixteen-year-olds" is a sporting drama about the victory that must be earned. Based on the difficult relationship between the two heroines who are fond of the traditional Japanese fencing art of kendo.

Takuji Suzuki's film "The Gagege's Wife" is dedicated to the youth of Shigeru Mizuki, the author of the famous comic book "Gagege no Kitaro" in the genre youkai (comics about supernatural beings).

The program will be  closed by  an exciting picture of Takashi Yamazaki from the cycle "Always: Sunset on Third Avenue-3".
