December 21 in Russia for the fourth time the All-Russian action "Day of short film" will be held. The International Day of Short Film is celebrated from 2011 on the initiative of the National Center for Cinematography and Animation of France. Public displays are held at various venues: in cinemas, bars, theaters, television channels, universities, libraries, schools, Internet portals, shopping centers, museums, etc. In 2014, the action was held for the first time in Russia on the initiative of the Youth Center of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
The main goal of the action is to attract the attention of the film industry and broad audience to short films, to promote the exchange of experience and knowledge between masters and young filmmakers, to systematize information about short film festivals and leading film schools in Russia, to present the work of cinematographers at various venues.
The organizers of the project are the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, the Youth Center of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia with the support of the National Foundation for the Support of Copyright Holders, the CANON Company, the CinePromo Festival Agency, the Cinema in the Meter, the Short Motion Center of Motors.
In Tatarstan the action is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Directorate of the "The Time of Cinema" forum. The shows will be held at several venues: at school and university film clubs, museums, libraries, art spaces.
Within the framework of the "Short Film Day-2017", the following events will take place from December 15 to 25: shows of non-commercial programs of short films in more than 50 regions of Russia; round table "The distribution of short films"; master classes of the leading domestic cinematographers; International festival of short meter "CinePromo", which will show 11 kinometers about happiness and freedom from Russia, Spain, Canada, France, Germany.
In Tatarstan before presentation of programs the presentation of the short project "Kazan shorts" will take place.
The main programs for the non-commercial show: "Stars in a short meter" 18+, "Family relations" 16+, "Animation program" 6+. Programs for non-commercial display are made up of films of students and graduates of VGIK, Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors, the Moscow School of Cinema and other leading film schools.
