"A drop from the sea of knowledge ..."

On December 6 at 14 o'clock at the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan there will be a meeting of the Literary Salon "Gyulem dingezennen ber tamchy" ("A drop from the sea of knowledge...") dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth of the scholar Islamologist, textologist, writer Anwar Khairi.

Anvar Nazirovich Khairi - Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Worker of Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, laureate of the Kayum  Nasyri award, laureate of the International  Kul Gali  award.

The scientific interests of Anwar Khairy touched upon the problems of literature and textology, art history and folklore, linguistics and history of the Tatar people. Thanks to him, he managed to publish dozens of books by Tatar enlighteners and writers of the XIX - XX centuries.

His activities are multifaceted: in addition to working with sources, he led an active public educational activity. Anvar Khairy worked in the department of rare manuscripts of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Institute of Language, Literature and Art after  G. Ibragimov, as well as in the State Museum of the Tatar SSR. In particular, thanks to his collecting activities, the collection of the museum was replenished with a jug of the 16th century - a unique exhibit of the period of the Kazan Khanate. With the participation of the scientist, the museums of Abdullah Alish were opened in his homeland and Rizaeddin Fakhreddin in the village of Kichuchatovo.

One of the most important works by Anwar Khairi is the translation into Tatar and Russian of Ibn Fadlan's notes "On the journey to the country of the Bulgars".

Mansurov - People's poet of Tatarstan, laureate of Tukayev Prize; H.H. Valiakhmetov - countryman A. Hayry, L.K. Tazieva - Candidate of Philology, Arabist; S.S. Mustafin  a writer; R. Malikov - People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan; B.B. Bikchantayev is a graduate student of the Kazan State Conservatory, as well as relatives of the scientist.
