Kazan Youth Theater turns 85 years

The birthday of the Kazan Theater of the Young Spectator is the date of the release of the first play "Rovesniki  (The Peers)" - November 30, 1932.

The theater occupies a historic building, constructed in the late 19th century.

The Theater of Youth is one of the first theaters in Russia, which received the highest theater prize "Golden Mask" in the nomination "The Best Performance of the Year" (1996, the play "The Storm" based on the play by W. Shakespeare, director  B. Tseitlin).

The creative inclusive laboratory "Creating a Theater", a theater for the youngest "Affordable Baby Theater", a discussion club and a theatrical studio for teens "Teatralka" are working in the Theater for Young Spectators.

The theater accepts more than 80 thousand spectators, shows 350 performances for children and adults per year.

The troupe of the theater numbers 40 artists, among them - Honored artists of Tatarstan and Russia, as well as People's artists of the republic.

The main director of the theater is Tufan Imamutdinov.

The theater has received recognition at national and international theatrical festivals and competitions, has more than a dozen significant awards in the field of theatrical art.

The State Award - the play "Pogrom" based on the novel   by B. Vasilieva "And there was an evening, and there was a morning," directed by Boris Tseitlin, 1992.

The Golden Mask Award is the play The Storm by W. Shakespeare, in the nomination Best Performance of the Year, directed by Boris Tseitlin, 1996.

The Kazan Youth Theater is a participant in the federal party project "Theaters for Children". Within the framework of the project, the repertoire of the theater will be replenished with two new performances "Penguins" based on the play by U. Huba "At the Ark at Eight" and "The Nose" by N.V. Gogol. Premiers are scheduled for early December 2017.

A significant date the team will celebrate amongst the circle of spectators, friends and colleagues. Congratulate the theater on November 30 at 18.30 will bring together representatives of cultural communities of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia and the near abroad, the leadership of the republic.
