Within the framework of the IV Biennial of printed graphics "Horseman" in the National Art Gallery "Khazine" on November 23 at 18:00 will be a lecture by Olga Verbina "Classical engraving and its techniques."
Engraving is a kind of printed graphics, the history of which is about two thousand years, but the lecture by art critic Olga Verbina will be devoted to a separate theme from the history of graphics - engraving of old masters of the XV-XIX centuries. Being one of the most accessible kinds of art, it is closely connected with the book business, the press and advertising, and the artist's work with her has always been accompanied by constant searches and perfection of technology. At the lecture, Olga Verbina will analyze various ways of printing on examples of works by old masters who sought to convey the diversity of the world through white and black.
Olga Verbina is an art historian, a curator of graphic department of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan.
