Puppeteers from Ankara will acquaint the Kazan spectators with the Turkish national genre of puppet theater art - Karagoz

In order to strengthen the intercultural ties between the two republics - the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Turkey on  November  22, 2017, the troupe of the theater "Tiyatro tempo" (Turkey) will visit Kazan. Puppeteers from Ankara will introduce the Kazan spectators to the national shadow art of the puppet theater that arose in the 16th century - Karagoz. Karagoz (tour Karagöz, literally - black-eyed) - a character of the Turkish shadow theater, the embodiment of people's humor, natural wit. In addition to the main character, in the presentation participated: partner Karagoz Hadzhivat, townspeople, Anatolian peasants, roguish dervish, etc.

At 11.00 in the small auditorium there will be a performance "Karagoz jadilar and hint fakiri (Witches Karagoz and Indian fakir)" - an interactive performance in the technique of the traditional Turkish shadow theater, which opens a mysterious, mobile and changeable world to the audience. The plot is based on fairy tales of a distant mysterious Turkey.

Before the audience there will be a engaged girl Zennes and a young man Chelebi, on the way to a happy marriage of whom jealousy and misunderstanding arise. Zennes accuses Celebi of infidelity, when the young man does not give her a clear explanation. She asks her mother to conjure and punish her lover. Chelebi, in turn, asks the mother to take revenge on the girl. Above the bewitched young people, Karaghes (the analogue of the Russian Petrushka) taunts. For this mother, Zennes punishes Karagez. In the end, all return to their human condition, the young forgive each other and swear eternal love. This performance won the award in the nomination "Best Actor" among 270 participants at the theater festival in the city of Belgorod in Russia.

 At 18.00 in the large auditorium there will be a play for adults by the author Ahmet Onel entitled "Uçmak özgürlüktür (Flight is freedom)". This performance narrates about the attempt of Hazarfen Ahmet Celebi to fly and fly. The performance uses modern puppetry and it also includes a small part of the traditional Karagoz theater.

It is assumed that a translation into Russian will be made for this performance. Earlier it was shown twice at the International Festival of Puppet Theaters in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Russia). And was awarded the award of the Turkish Center of the International Association of Children's and Youth Theaters "for" Best Script Text "and" Best Performance ".
