In the cinema "Mir" the XII American Film Festival "AMFEST" will be held

From October 26 to October 31, the XII "AMFEST" American Film Festival will start at the Mir cinema. This is one of the main autumn events in the field of cinema, a cinematic feast, a panorama of the latest achievements of American cinema in all its manifestations - from the majestic Hollywood to the low-budget independent cinema, often surpassing large studio projects in courage, wit and originality. In Kazan, the festival will be held for the first time.

Within the framework of the festival there will be screenings of films of different genres. Americans still do not know equal in creating biographical dramas. A dramatic real story,a  drama "Stronger," a benefit film by Jake Gyllenhaal in the role of Jeff Bauman, who lost his legs as a result of the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon, but retained an enviable will to live. The mysterious detective biopic "Marshall" is chained to the screen - the reconstruction of a real criminal case, with the honor closed by Thurgood Marshall, the future judge of the US Supreme Court, the first of African American. Do not get bored  on the "Real Rocky" – a sly biography of the boxer, who once inspired Sylvester Stallone to create Rocky Balboa. The way the hero of the magnificent Liv Schreiber sheds his blood on the ring is a master class of acting of the highest standard. The documentary biography - a tour to the outer and inner worlds of Iggy Pop "The American Valhalla" - captures the naked truth. The admiration of Europe and its sweetly bitter love stories permeates the poetic "Porto"; in this virtuoso staged  film, one of the last roles was played by Anton Yelchin.
