Actual issues of museum activity

October 26, 2017 in the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan a seminar "Actual Issues of Museum Activity" will be held for representatives of the museums of the Volga Federal District. As part of the seminar,  general meeting of the Interregional Public Organization " Council of Museums of the Volga Federal District" will take place. The organizers of the meeting, which will be held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, are the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore after  I.A. Goncharov.

Within the framework of the seminar there will be a discussion of topical issues related to the regulatory and legal base of museum activities. Directors  of the leading museums of the Volga region will discuss the main areas of cooperation in project activities and tourism, organization of joint events and inter-museum exhibition projects.

During the day, reports on the work of the Board of the Council of Museums of the Volga Federal District on  directions will be presented, the discussion of the Work Plan for 2017-2018,  election of additional members of the Board will be held.

As a result of the competition of professional skill among the museum workers of the Volga Federal District, the winners will be solemnly awarded.

The program of the seminar also includes the work of thematic sections and the opening of the exhibition of prize-winning works of the interregional festival-photo contest "Ecology-Safety-Life" among the regions of the Volga Federal District in the Literary-Memorial Museum  after  A.M. Gorky.

The Interregional Public Organization " Council of Museums of the Volga Federal District" was established by  General Assembly on October 21, 2016 in the city of Ulyanovsk and is a voluntary, self-governing, non-profit formation. The Council of PFO museums serves as a platform for professional communication, coordination of the activities of the museum community, inter-museum exhibition exchange, cooperation in scientific and educational activities.

 The founders of the Council are Volodina Julia Konstantinovna, director of the Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local History after  I.A. Goncharov; Nazipova Gulchachak Rakhimzyanovna, Director General of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan; Menshikova Irina Petrovna, director of the Chuvash National Museum.

The Council of PFD museums includes 58 museums from 14 regions of the Privolzhsky District. Museum specialists from Ulyanovsk, Samara, Izhevsk, Orenburg, Yoshkar-Ola, Ufa, Saratov, Penza, Perm, and others will come to Kazan.

An important part of the seminar will be  holding of  General Reporting and Election Meeting of the Association of Museums of Tatarstan, during which the election of a new Board membership will be held, a report on the activities of the Association from 2013 to 2016 will be presented, and the main lines of work for 2017-2020 will be determined.

The Association of Museums of Tatarstan is a voluntary association of museum institutions and museum workers of the Republic of Tatarstan, a non-profit organization established in 2013. The activity of the Association is aimed at coordinating the activities of the museums of the republic.

During the seminar, it is expected to exchange experience of museums of Tatarstan and PFD, professional communication, as well as acquaintance with new museums and expositions of Kazan.

Coordination of the activities of regional museums will allow to optimally organize their interaction and will serve the development of museum business on the territory of the Volga Federal District.
